Did you know that Boston has the highest per capita consumption of ice cream of any city in the U.S.?  Here in Provincetown, we are not technically Bostonians, but we are just across the Bay (and only a ferry ride away!) and so we have a lot in common with the Beantown city folk, including, perhaps, a propensity for sweet frozen things.


We are all about health and wellness here at the spa.  With our massages and treatments, we can help give your body and skin some much needed TLC.  Of course, one of the most effective ways to take care of your body is through your food.  We are always looking for healthy ways to satisfy the sweet tooth.  In the winter, it is just too cold for anything resembling a cold treat or beverage.  But now that spring is here (with summer not too far away in the future, I hope!), it’s time to bust out the blender and churn up smoothies again.  This Chocolate Peanut Butter smoothie is so good for a fix of sweetness and chocolate.  The recipe is completely adaptable.  You could use cow’s milk.  If you are going sugar free, you can leave off the maple syrup.  It truly doesn’t need it anyways.   Mmmm, delish!


Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie

2 frozen bananas
3/4 cup almond milk (homemade or store-bought)
1 Tablespoon pure maple syrup (optional)
2 Tablespoons cocoa powder
1/4 cup natural peanut butter
pinch of sea salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
7 ice cubes (about 2 handfuls)
